INCITS/B10 is responsible for
the development of national and international standards in the area
of identification cards and related devices for use in inter-industry applications
and international interchange, e.g.:
This technical committee is the U.S. TAG to ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC17 and provides recommendations on U.S. positions to the JTC 1 TAG.

B10 Officers:
|
| INCITS/B10 has four Task Groups that
have been assigned to facilitate work in specific segments: |
|
| INCITS/B10.5
works on projects related to Contactless IC Cards |
B10.5 Officers:
|
| INCITS/B10.8
serves as the US Tag to the ISO/IEC JTC1/SC17 WG10 efforts on International
Standardization of Driver License documents. The international standard establishes guidelines in the format and content of motor vehicle driver licenses (DLs) to support the requirements of national or regional motor vehicle authorities and international conventions. It creates a common basis for international use and recognition of DLs without impeding individual national and regional authorities in taking care of their specific needs. DLs and related documents are defined within the standard, in a broad framework of categories as documents for separate uses or function including passenger vehicles, commercial transport vehicles, other related traffic safety applications (e.g. transport driver recorder card) and other card functions at the discretion of individual national/regional motor vehicle authorities. They can be enhanced by the adoption of machine-readable technologies. |
B10.8 Officers:
|
| INCITS/B10.11
was established from the merger of INCITS Task Groups B10.3 Card Durability
and related Test Methods and B10.6 Physical Characteristics, Magnetic Stripes,
and Test Methods. |
B10.11 Officers:
|
| INCITS/B10.12
addresses the standardization of a layered set of common interfaces and interactions
between integrated circuit cards and applications to include generic multi-domain
services. |
